Homoeopathy is a system of medicine used extensively throughout the world.
We are all affected by life’s events both happy and sad which can sometimes leave us out of balance, homoeopathic remedies help to redress this by stimulating our own healing powers and restore us back to health.
Everyone is unique, we all have our own picture as a person, homoeopathic remedies have their own picture too. A homoeopath matches these pictures to facilitate the healing process.
Training & Qualifications
As
a professional homoeopathic practitioner I have had 4 years training
with The Yorkshire School of Homoeopathy. I
am a registered member of the Society of Homoeopaths which is the
main governing body for homoeopathy in the UK.
How does it work?
Homoeopathy works in a totally different way to conventional medicine by treating holistically. The remedies used also differ vastly from the drugs produced by the pharmaceutical companies.
This has two main benefits:-
There are no side effects.
We are often successful in treating conditions that doctors find difficult e.g. asthma, eczema, ME, depression, PMT
What is involved in a consultation?
The first consultation lasts about one and a half hours. This gives time for you to fully explain the symptoms or problems with which you would like help. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle the more information you are able to give, the better clearer picture I have of you as a person.
As an experienced homoeopath I have heard both straight forward physical complaints and painful stories, I will listen to you with openness, compassion and confidentiality.
At the end of the consultation a homoeopathic remedy will be prescribed, a follow up appointment arranged (usually in 4 weeks).
What can be treated?
As an experienced homoeopath I have seen most complaints that are normally taken to a GP.
Homoeopathy is especially valuable during times of pregnancy and childbirth when some conventional medicines need to be avoided.
Common questions
How much does it cost?
Probably less than you think and a fraction of the cost of private health care. The initial appointment is 40 € and follow ups the following month, up to an hour are 25 €.
Do I need to tell my GP?
No but you can ask their advice if you wish and I can liaise with them if needed.
Can I claim on my health insurance?
Yes in most cases.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes - please ring or email me and I will get back to you.
Do things get worse before getting better?
This is a common misunderstanding and important that you ask me so that I can explain the healing process.
Do I need to stop my present medication?
No – as you feel better and don’t need the drugs then we will talk about reducing them in agreement with your GP. You will never be told or asked to stop your medication.
Are the remedies easy to take?
Yes – they taste slightly sweet, chewable, dissolvable or can be crushed.
Does homoeopathy involve animal testing?
No and remedies are suitable for vegetarians.
